Delaware County Watershed Economic Impact Study:

Request for Proposals

Delaware County, New York, invites proposals from expert rural economic development consultants, especially U.S. higher education faculty, to help the County to understand the potential economic impact of New York City's plans to lock up one quarter of the county's land ostensibly for water quality protection purposes, in the form of land purchases and conservation easement purchases.

The County wishes to have an objective analysis of the situation, including learning how other rural communities have survived economically in the face strict environmental regulations and substantial public land holdings.

The Request for Proposals document provides background and provides specific application instructions.

The deadline for proposals is April 15, 2008, 5 pm.
